"New Way of Working" (NWOW) Workshop Held in Dakar

UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA hosted a workshop on 18-19 January 2017 in Dakar within the context of “New Way of Working” (NWOW) initiative, which was launched at the World Humanitarian Summit to seek ways of coordination between humanitarian and development aid.

In addition to OCHA officials, UN resident coordinators in Africa, representatives of relevant UN agencies (UNDP, UNICEF, UNHCR), EU delegations and ECHO, Red Cross and Red Crescent societies, development banks and NGOs attended the workshop.

In the workshop, the participants handled the institutional and financial challenges in context of humanitarian and development aid. The participants also discussed the analysis, planning, coordination, leadership and financial aspects of NWOW.
