"NWOW: Advancing Implementation" Organized in Copenhagen

Second workshop within the context of “New Way of Working” initiative, which was launched at the World Humanitarian Summit to seek ways of coordination between humanitarian and development aid, was held in Copenhagen on 13-14 March 2017. 

In addition to relevant UN agencies (OCHA, UNDP, UNICEF, UNHCR) officials and representatives from Ministries of Foreign Affairs, EU delegations, Red Cross and Red Crescent societies, financial institutions including World Bank and NGOs attended the workshop.

After the high level panel, the participants discussed the success stories and challenges on the way to collective outcomes, in light of the practices in Ethiopia, Uganda, Somali and Yemen. In the breakout sessions, the participants also shared their recommendations in terms of

  • (1) joint analysis and planning,
  • (2) leadership and coordination and
  • (3) financing.
